The Angry Bear was a column I originally started at GameSpy as a way to express my opinions about some of the deeper questions in gaming — the questions of art, philosophy, controversy and politics that are all too often glossed over in typical gaming coverage. The column was just beginning to get some traction when I ended up leaving the site. I truly enjoyed working on the column though, and I particularly relished the conversations that would often erupt over things that I thought were insignificant at the time. Therefore, I’m bringing the column with me.
I’ll be reprinting the original 14 Angry Bear columns here. Starting with number 15 though, they’re all mine with no connection or endorsement implied from GameSpy or IGN. I hope you enjoy them, that they stimulate a few brain cells and that perhaps they can help us all think about gaming in new ways.
Please enjoy! And if you do, why not share these columns with some of your friends?
